Dress in the workplace, tattoos and piercings
What are you allowed to ask your employees to wear? And how far can you influence how they present themselves in the workplace and to your customers?
This can be a very tricky issue which has led many employers into high profile debates in the media spotlight.
In this half-day course, our experienced trainers will explain, in a practical and straightforward way, employer and employee rights, the benefits of having a dress code policy and what to consider when developing one.
Dress codes play an important role in the workplace as they set clear standards for employees to follow. They can also help ensure the employer’s image is protected in customer facing environments.
Although there is no specific legislation regarding dress codes in the workplace, employers must be aware of how other legislation can have an effect on policy development as Employment Tribunals have determined several cases where employees have argued that a company’s dress code has breached their rights.
This has in many cases proved very expensive to employers in terms of time, resource and compensation payments.
This course will help ensure that you are aware of good practice in developing a clear dress code policy and the benefits of involving the staff who will be affected.
The course will also look at possible pitfalls for employers and how breaches of policy should be dealt with.
All delegates will receive an electronic certificate of attendance for their participation in the training.
Delegates from all sectors of industry including: managers, supervisors, team leaders, HR professionals, business owners, Trade Union representatives, employee representatives and individuals who wish enhance their CPD.
